Salinas Police Investigate Late Night Shooting | Crime

Salinas police say 20-year-old was shot in the back and chest while walking on Center Street around 11pm Saturday night.

The victim says a 19-year-old asked him for a cigarette, but the victim only had a beer.

Moments later the victim heard footsteps behind him and was shot twice.

The victim was air lifted to Stanford Hospital and is in stable condition.

Police say the suspect(s) drove away in a light colored, two door older Mercedes.
