SALINAS, Calif. -- A busy weekend for Salinas Police as they investigate 5 armed robberies in the city all happening within a 4 hour time frame.  All armed robberies happened between 6:35pm and 10:37pm Friday.

Two businesses, O'Reilly Auto Parts and Quick stop, were robbed at gunpoint.  The suspects bound two employees at O'Reilly Auto Parts and left them in the storage room before leaving with cash.  Police also said three people were robbed in different locations.  One happened at the Northridge Mall parking lot.  An employee said he was robbed of the store's earnings and was on his way to the bank to make the deposit.

In the other two cases, three Hispanic teens were reported robbing two men of cash and cell phones. Salinas Police say there's been an increase of robberies lately. In the past two days they've investigated 9. "Before these 9 robberies we didn't really have a rash of robberies going on," said Sgt. Gerard Ross.

Police don't have a good description of the suspects and are still investigating if any of these cases could be related.
