New Details on Child Molestation Case Against Assistant Principal | News
SALINAS, Calif- Today the Monterey County Courthouse sent Central Coast News the complaint that details the allegations against Raul Ramirez, the Alisal High School Assistant Principal accused of having a sexual relationship with a 14-year old girl.
The complaint says Ramirez had sex with Jane Doe starting in August, and that he tried to stop her and her friends from reporting the crime to police.
The prosecution claims Ramirez also destroyed his I-phone, which they say he used to send hundreds of text messages to the alleged victim, and asked Jane Doe to destroy hers which where found damaged by water.
He is being held on $1million bail. Today Central Coast News' legal expert said the prosecution did his job when he laid out arguments during Ramirez' arraignment to avoid a bail reduction.
"We're talking about something that sends chills up every mother's spine, a principal accused of having sex with a 14 year old, that could be anyone's daughter. What the prosecutor was doing was trying to emphasize to the court that he was a public safety hazard based on tampering with evidence, etcetera," said Attorney Tracy Henderson.
If Ramirez is convicted of some of the charges like child molestation or contact with a minor for a sexual offense he will have to register as a sex offender.
