SALINAS, Calif.- A known gang member tried to hide from Salinas Police Sunday afternoon, but soon gave himself up.
Police officers spotted 34 year old Robert Lopez, a wanted felon, standing in his driveway on the 700 block of St. Charles Way in Salinas at about 12pm Sunday afternoon.
Lopez wouldn't talk to the officers and ran in his house. Lopez had an outstanding no-bail arrest warrant for being a felon with a gun.
Police secured the area around Lopez's home and contacted him on his cell phone. After about 30 minutes, Lopez walked out of his house and was arrested. Lopez was booked into Monterey County jail on that warrant.
